La Evaluación del desarrollo de los alumnos preescolares [Spanish] [Assessing the Development of Preschoolers]
Lilian G. Katz
This article focuses on ways in which parents can informally assess their preschoolers' development. Guidelines for evaluating the sleeping, eating, and toilet habits of children from 3 to 5 years of age are provided, as are signs of healthy development manifested in the child's range of emotions, friendships, variations in play, curiosity, response to authority, interests, and spontaneous affection. Suggestions are provided for appropriate interventions as necessary, as is a short reading list.
