Young Children's Social Development: A Checklist

This paper presents a research-based checklist of items for teachers to use in identifying elements of social competence in young children. Lists of individual attributes, social skill attributes, and peer relationship attributes indicative of healthy social development are provided, as are guidelines for their use. A short list of recommended reading is also provided.
