This booklet for parents provides information on early intervention services for children with disabilities. Chapters address: (1) the importance of family in supporting a child; (2) assessment and early intervention; (3) services and supports under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act; (4) setting goals; (5) Individualized Education Programs and Individualized Family Service Plans; (6) including a child with disabilities in activities with all children; and (7) reaching out to others. Appendices include a developmental progress chart for children birth through 5, and a list of relevant federal and state organizations. (Contains 15 references.)
