This checklist is designed to assist early childhood personnel in assessing their services in early intervention and early childhood settings. It is intended to heighten the awareness and sensitivity of personnel to the importance of cultural diversity and cultural competence in early childhood settings. Forty items are divided into the following areas: physical environment, materials, and resources, communication styles, and values and attitudes.
