Project STEPS: Training Manual
This training manual is part of Project STEPS (Sequenced Transition to Education in the Public Schools) and focuses on training participants to develop a community wide transition system. It contains an overview of the STEPS model, a description of the training materials, overhead masters, a guide for trainers in presenting visual and handout information, guidelines for time allotments, and agenda structure. The modules are designed for use over three days and cover the following: (a) overview of the STEPS Model and transition system design process; (b) the local team and effective team meetings; (c) the STEPS model components; (d) transition system development process; and (e) using the Helpful Entry Level Skills Checklist. Each module provides a list of materials needed, specification of module objectives, and a detailed guide to presenting the module content.
