Summary:

The articles in this booklet are all by mothers of young children with disabilities who live in Missoula, Montana. Two of the women have a child born with Down syndrome, one has a child with cerebral palsy, and one has a child with a rare form of epilepsy. The articles address: becoming a detective in the medical community, finding and funding support groups, what to do about conflicting professional advice, child advocacy, things some professionals did that drove them nuts, plaudits for professionals, surviving the first three years, and parent/professional conflict. A list of relevant publications is provided.
