The Guide for Choosing Hispanic/Latino American Parenting Curricula
Robin R. Wingo, Carol Mertensmeyer
This guide is designed to help professionals working with Hispanic/Latino American parents to select culturally sensitive materials and to develop effective programs drawing on the richness of Hispanic/Latino American culture. The guide is arranged in three major sections. After a short section defining key terms, a quick reference section provides an abbreviated look at each of the 20 curricula reviewed, followed by a grid system identifying specific issues and topics covered in each curriculum's content. A more elaborate narrative description of each product then follows, including a summary, culturally specific information, reviewers' remarks, and information for ordering the materials. A form is also included for use in recommending additional materials for review.
